Welcome to Casa Charo

Us

After traveling extensively throughout Bolivia in search of the perfect place to start our project, we finally made it to Samaipata. Without hesitation, we found the ideal hill and terrain to bring our vision to life.

At Casa Charo, our mission is to provide a unique gastronomic experience in the heights. As a fixed menu restaurant, we are proud to use fresh ingredients from the Valles Cruceños, and harmonize our dishes with carefully selected bolivian wines.

Our objective is to highlight the diversity of our landscapes and products, and to serve as ambassadors of Bolivian wine throughout the world. Always striving to respect nature and its cycles in addition to having a positive impact on our community.

Location

Casa Charo is located a 15-minute walk or 2-minute drive (1.5 km / 1 mile) from the Central Plaza of Samaipata.

If you plan to consume alcohol, we recommend using public transportation. In the main square, you will find various public transportation options available to hire, such as trufis, 4x4 wagons, and motorcycle taxis.

To get to our restaurant, just turn left before you get to the "Vaca Loca" and go up 300 meters.

You can also find us on GoogleMaps.

From Santa Cruz – 120km

The closest international airport to Samaipata is the Viru-Viru Airport, located in Santa Cruz de la Sierra.

From Santa Cruz you can get to Samaipata using the shared public transport called "trufis". These trufis leave from Segundo Anillo and Avenida Grigota (Transporte El Fuerte). They also offer private transportation services.

We recommend that visitors arrive in Samaipata one night before their Casa Charo experience to ensure they fully enjoy their visit.

Accommodation

Samaipata has a wide range of accommodations, from hostels, hotels and Airbnb. We suggest making a reservation in advance as in high season (September to March) they tend to fill up.

If you choose to book a cabin directly with a contact, we advise you to exercise caution when making advance deposits, especially if you don't personally know or trust the contact. There have been cases of fraud in the past. We recommend making reservations through reliable and recognized web pages for greater security and peace of mind.
